JOANNA BECKLY

I am a printmaker using the natural environment as inspiration for monoprint and drypoint etching.  I use eco-friendly soy and honey based inks and old plastic packaging for the drypoint etching plates.  As a gardener I am constantly influenced by all that nature provides for us and I try to express this in my work.  

Having lived in rural England for nearly all my life, I am still rooted in that environment.  Although now based in Bath, the countryside and the coast are where I feel most inspired to work, using  sand, mud, sea water, natural found objects and general detritus in a lot of my printmaking.
